What People Are Saying...
CJ and Shelley brought a powerful message challenging us to take practical steps toward the holiness for which God has created us.

I especially appreciated the breakout session in which CJ spoke very candidly with the men (and young men) about the need for purity with regard to pornography and for protection with regard to creating a safe environment for our daughters.

The women of the church were blessed as Shelley spoke tenderly about God's pure love for each of them.

Through this one Sunday event, hearts were open to healing and families were challenged to set new standards for the media soup in which they daily swim.

Shelley Hitz Bio...

Shelley is an ordinary person, just like you, with struggles and trials. And yet, God is doing extra-ordinary things through this "jar of clay." 2 Cor 4:7 says, "We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us."

Shelley is the author of the website, www.FindYourTrueBeauty.com, that reaches thousands of girls each month around the world with God's truth.

She is also the author of the book, "Mirror Mirror...Am I Beautiful, Looking Deeper to Find Your True Beauty" and is co-authoring a book with her husband CJ, "The Mathematics of Jesus, Making Sense of Life When Life Doesn't Seem to Add Up."

Within her local jail, women inmates are being reached through her book "Mirror Mirror," literally "setting the captives free." Her book is also in the process of being translated into Spanish.

Shelley's openness and vulnerability as she shares her own story of hope and healing will inspire and encourage you.

Shelley Hitz has been ministering to teens since 1998 alongside her husband, C.J. They currently travel and speak to teens around the country. Shelley's main passion is to share God's truth and the freedom in Christ she has found with others. She does this through her website and through her speaking engagements. When at home in Findlay, Ohio, Shelley continues to work as a Physical Therapist for their local hospital.

What People Are Saying...

Thank You Shelley! After I saw you at the Jr. High Convention recently things have gotten so much better in my life. I stopped wearing all kinds of black and depressing clothing to fit in with certain people.

I also needed to hear your story of what you did in 8th grade and how much you regretted it or else I probably would have done the same thing (compromise sexually).

I was going to church before I saw you but now I really listen to what my preacher is saying and I've told some of my friends about your site and they love it! Anyway I would just like to THANK YOU again for what you have shown me and with any luck you may help some of my friends get saved!

Seminar Descriptions for Shelley Hitz

Not sure what topic would work best for your group? Read the various seminar descriptions for Shelley Hitz below. If you have another topic you'd like her to speak on, let her know!

1. Find Your True Beauty

Did you know that 24% of women would sacrifice 3 years of their life to be thin, that girls as young as five have expressed fears of getting fat and 90% of high school junior and senior girls diet regularly even though only between 10-15% are considered overweight.

Does this surprise you? Do you wonder why this is happening? I believe one of the biggest influences on girls today regarding beauty is the media. Using powerful videos and PowerPoint slides, Shelley Hitz will help expose the lies girls believe about their beauty and the steps to become free...helping you find your true beauty!

2. Shopping, Fashion, Modesty

In our culture today, anything goes when it comes to fashion. The world's philosophy is "if you got it, flaunt it." However, Shelley shares a powerful message for girls challenging them to honor God with the clothes they wear. She approaches a difficult topic with grace and real solutions. Meet the "Accidental Immodesty" girls and be prepared to be challenged to honor God with your fashion choices.

This presentation can be adapted for younger girls (4th and 5th grade) as well as teenagers and women. Plan on having a fashion show event the week after Shelley's talk if appropriate for your setting. Have each participant choose one outfit from their closet to model that is honoring to God, applying the modesty tips and guidelines they learned in the presentation.

3. Empty or Full?

So many times we feel that aching loneliness deep inside. We ask questions like, "Is there more?" "Is this all there is?" Shelley shares from personal experience how to find true satisfaction, healing and freedom in Christ.

4. Healing the Broken Hearted

Many things in life can leave you feeling broken hearted. Divorce. Death. Difficult Break Up. Abuse. Shelley shares her story of sexual abuse and leads others to the One who can truly bring healing...Jesus.

5. Power of Forgiveness

Anyone and everyone can relate to this seminar. Shelley shares the powerful story of her Grandma's death and the path Jesus took her down to forgive her Grandma's murderer. Prepare to be challenged and changed through this seminar.

The Forgiveness Cross

Shelley's presentation includes the powerful imagery of the "Forgiveness Cross" as pictured below.

6. Walking Together with God

Jesus said his sheep hear his voice. Can you hear God's voice? Are you walking alone or do you have the empowerment of a Father that loves you? Shelley shares some practical steps as well as the heart touching story of Team Hoyt, to encourage you to a deeper surrender, trust and dependence on God.

7. Taking off Your Masks to
Recover Your True Identity

Who am I? This is a common and universal question that most people ask at some point in their lives. Learn to take off your masks and find your true identity in Christ.

Want to Know More?

Here are a few more interesting tidbits about Shelley...

Favorite Color? Red (the current color of my car!)

Favorite Food? Pizza and chocolate

Favorite Hobby? Hiking in the mountains, downhill skiing (I enjoy most outdoor recreational activities), traveling to new places, reading, playing with my nieces. I also love music and enjoy singing (although I don't do solos!). By the way, if you asked my husband, C.J., he might say talking on the phone is one of my hobbies :)

Favorite Movie? One Night With the King

Favorite Bands? Superchick, Rebecca St. James, Krystal Meyers, Jeremy Camp (What can I say....for the most part I tend to be partial to girls).

Favorite Sports Teams? Ohio State Buckeyes. Go Bucks!

Favorite place to visit? Ummmm....I have too many, but I love going out west in the mountains or to the beach. What beautiful scenery from our Creator.

Favorite Vacation spot? Caye Caulker, Belize.

Favorite Drink(s)? Water is definitely #1. But, I still love a good cup of coffee, esp. in the mornings.

What kind of car do you drive? 2006 Chevy Aveo.

Play any sports? Volleyball, tennis, golf (best ball with my dad and hubby), disc golf.

Are you married, and do you have kids? Yes, I have one awesome man - C.J. (1998), no kids yet....just a dog.

Any Pets? Not currently. God blessed us with a Dacshund (wiener dog) named Penny for several years.

What's the most difficult thing you've ever done? I would have to say that one of the hardest things I've ever done is hiking to the summit of the South Sister Mountain in Oregon with C.J. in the summer of 2007. I thought I was crazy when I agreed to do this with him because once we got past 9,000 ft. elevation I had to stop every 5-10 steps to catch my breath! But, the view at 10,358 ft. was worth that long and difficult hike. We were able to see 10 other mountains from the top. Plus, it was a great feeling of accomplishment...even though I got blisters and my worst sunburn ever!

Most Embarrassing moment? Showing up to high school with two different shoes on. I was trying them both on to see which one looked better with my outfit and in my rush to get out the door forgot I never decided which ones were best!

On a day off, what would be the ultimate day off? Warm secluded beach with only my husband and a good book.

Your heroes? Mother Theresa, my mom, my Savior

The True Low Down on Shelley?

  • I face the same struggles you do

  • I'm a recovering shopaholic

  • I've traveled to Europe (mostly France & Italy), Africa, Mexico, Ecuador, Belize, Guatemala and would love to visit every continent before I die

  • I am a Physical Therapist and enjoy helping people heal from injuries, surgeries, etc.

  • My ultimate passion is to share the freedom and love I've found in Jesus with others, esp. teen girls....just like one beggar telling another where to find food.
